RuleCaddie answering a plugged-ball question, citing Rule 16.3

Three taps from confusion to certainty.

No thumbing through a rule book on the tee box while your group waits.

01

Ask

Tap the mic and describe your lie in plain English. Gloves on, phone barely out of the bag.

02

Get the ruling

The answer streams back in seconds — your options, any penalty strokes, and the exact rule number.

03

Settle it

One tap turns the ruling into a share card for the group chat. The argument is over.

A rules official who walks every round with you.

Built on the official Rules of Golf, answered by AI, cited by rule number — with a full offline rule book for when the signal dies on the back nine.

🎙️

Ask with your voice

Describe the situation out loud. Answers stream back in seconds and can be read aloud while you walk to your ball.

📍

See your drop

The Drop Helper draws your actual relief area on a satellite map — two club-lengths, back-on-the-line, exactly where you can drop.

📸

Your caddie knows your course

Photograph the local rules board and scorecard once. Every future answer accounts for your club's local rules — automatically.

Round mode & scoring

One-tap scores, penalties logged with the rule cited, stroke holes marked from your handicap, and a recap when you're done.

🤝

Match play, handled

Enter your opponent's handicap and every hole shows who gives strokes where — with live match status on your lock screen.

Fair questions.

Are the answers official rulings?

No — they're AI-generated with citations to the official Rules of Golf, and they're built to be right. For competition, always confirm with a rules official. RuleCaddie is not affiliated with the USGA or The R&A.

How accurate is it, really?

Every answer is grounded in the current Rules of Golf and cites the specific rule number so you can verify it yourself. For the situations golfers actually hit — penalty areas, drops, unplayable lies, OB — it's reliable enough to settle the tee-box debate. For a competition ruling, a rules official is still the final word.

Does it work without cell service?

Yes. The complete rule book works fully offline, and on newer iPhones with Apple Intelligence, basic questions are answered by on-device AI with zero signal — handy in the dead spots on the back nine.

Do I need to pay to try it?

No. The free tier gives you 5 AI rulings a day plus the full rule book, quiz, and round mode — no account or card required. Pro adds unlimited rulings and more, with a 1-week free trial.

Is there an Apple Watch app?

Yes — ask from your wrist and the answer comes back through your phone. Your round also lives on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, so it follows you the whole 18.

How does the handicap and scoring work?

Enter your handicap index once. Photograph any course's scorecard and RuleCaddie reads the slope and rating, computes your course handicap with the official formula, and marks your stroke holes. Then keep score with one tap per hole.

What data do you collect?

The minimum needed to answer your questions and sync your account. No selling data, no ads, no third-party trackers. You can delete your account and all data anytime from within the app. See our privacy policy.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancel anytime; Pro stays active until the end of the period.
