Privacy Policy

Effective July 15, 2026

RuleCaddie ("the app") helps golfers get answers about the Rules of Golf. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to answer your questions and sync your account, we don't sell data, and we don't use it for advertising.

What we collect

How AI answers work

When you ask a question, its text (and any photo you attach) is sent to our server and forwarded to Anthropic, the AI provider that generates the answer. Anthropic processes this data to provide the response and does not use API data to train its models. Voice input is transcribed on your device by Apple's speech recognition; audio is not sent to our servers.

Subscriptions and payments

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. We receive only a transaction identifier used to verify your subscription status.

Where data lives

Account data is stored with Supabase (our database provider) with row-level security, meaning your data is accessible only to your authenticated account.

What we don't do

Account deletion

You can delete your entire account and all associated data at any time from within the app: Profile → Delete Account. You may also email us and we'll complete the deletion within 30 days. Individual conversations can also be deleted in the app.

Children

RuleCaddie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll update this page and note the new effective date above.
